Here is a round-up of what has been happening in Willenhall South, New Invention, and Short Heath over the last couple of weeks.
Willenhall South
Officers have been patrolling Western Avenue and surrounding area in Willenhall and Darlaston. We have had reports that youths have been climbing on the scaffolding, and issues with off road bikes in Western Avenue Park. Both Willenhall and Darlaston Neighbourhood teams are patrolling the area.
Patrols are continuing around Willenhall Town Centre and Memorial Park. We have not encountered any youths causing any issues.
We also received a couple of ASB reports from Mcdonald’s and are visiting the restaurant as often as can.
2 x stolen vehicles have been recovered.
1 x female arrested for 2 x shoplifting offences. 1 x female arrested for 2 x shoplifting offences and assault on shop worker 1 x male arrested for recall to prison and 7 shoplifting offences.
We attended Cosy Corner at the Chart on 12/02/26. This event is open to anyone and takes place every Thursday 17.00 to 19.00. A nice and fun atmosphere for families to attend, food and drink, quiz night, bingo and occasionally live entertainment.
Every Tuesday St Giles Church have a soup kitchen/breakfast between 10.00 to12.00, anyone welcome for a chat, or food and drink. The New Testament Church Upper Lichfield Street (opposite Morrisons) will be running an arts and craft session between 14.30 to 16.30. The foodbank is also available between 12.00 to 14.00. Both events take place on Tuesdays.
Food bank at Chart Centre, Gomer Street on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s between 09.00 and 18.00.
Next week – 21/02/26 Chart Centre, Gomer Street will be hosting ‘Meals for the Community’ which takes place every 3rd Saturday of each month, between13.00 to 15.00. Free food, drink and a chat.
Short Heath We attended Pool Hayes Academy I/c of Gary William from our Precious Lives team who talked to year 7 pupils about his life growing up, how he turned to crime, spent time behind bars and has turned his life around. He now mentors’ young people to try and steer them in the right direction. His story is very inspiring for the young people who listen and ask questions at the end of the session.
We attended Willenhall E-Act to conduct a Police Surgery, to talk to pupils on a one to basis about any issues that are occurring at home, school or in the community.
Next week – 18/02/26 Police and WHG Surgery at Queens Lea Community Centre, this is open to any residents in Willenhall who would like to speak to us an about any issues they may have in their community or crime prevention advice.
Willenhall North
Patrols have been conducted around the Beacon and Allen's Rough Estate, no issues to report.
Joint Surgery with WHG took place on 10/02/26 at the Hive, New Invention Square. These surgeries are open to any residents living in Willenhall who would like to discuss any issues or for crime prevention advice.
We have also had 2 reports of vans being broken in to and tools taken. Offenders have cut and peeled back the sliding door to get access to the vans. 1 x stolen vehicle recovered.
